“Your insight and enthusiasm have sparked our team to achievements beyond what we could have imagined - together we can do anything.”
— Kathy Rosenow and Kari Fagin, CBIS
Mary Kausch knows people--specifically employees and employers. Mary’s experience in not-for-profit and corporate worlds, combined with her education, and personal career transformation, give her keen insight into all areas of Human Resources.
But to know people, one must know human nature. The key to Mary’s powerful insight is her ability to recognize that every employee is, first and foremost, a person -- a multi-dimensional human being. Furthermore, figuring out what it takes for this multi-dimensional employee to thrive will enable your company to thrive as well. The cultivation of this Employment Partnership is where Mary excels.
Mary’s experience inside boardrooms and in the great outdoors has created a unique confluence of knowledge, experience and Inner Insight that she brings to not-for-profit organizations, businesses and corporations.
Mary earned her degree in Human Resources and Business and Industrial Communications from Southwest Missouri State University. She has gained over 28 years of Human Resource and Organization Development experience from positions within Health Systems Management, Citicorp, Whirlpool and the Tecumseh Leadership Center, as well as her work as a self employed, independent consultative facilitator and speaker.
One of Mary’s unique specialties is the Inner Insight she offers into the dynamics of an inter-generational workplace. She has worked with over 13,000 employees across the United States and Canada to help define generational experiences and how these experiences shape personal values, attitudes and work behavior. She is a Certified Facilitator in DiSC and iWAM (Inventory for Work Attitude and Motivation) and Myers Briggs qualified.
In addition to her role as a consultative facilitator and gifted speaker, Mary has taught human resource classes for the St. Louis Community College and has been an adjunct instructor of Organizational Behavior at Purdue University in the School of Organizational Leadership and Supervision. She co-authored Benefits, Compensation and Other Perks, published by the Credit Union Executive Society along with authoring numerous articles on human nature.
Mary serves on the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce Board and is their Economic Development Chairperson. She is a Master Naturalist with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Mary has also been past-President of two St. Louis organizations: the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and the Organization Development Network (ODN). She is a member of the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI) and Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Mary is past-President of the Meramec Valley Grotto caving club and has been a Venture Crew Advisor for the Boy Scouts of America.
